Honduras is a country filled with friendly people and high humidity. Its heat is combatted by the dew of the morning and the cool of its beach shores. The area the Pack Your Bags team went to was not the cultural majority, it was a place called La Moskitia; a section of land for the Miskito people of Honduras. All of the time was spent in Puerto Lempira; Honduras, with a final week of debriefing on the island of Roatan.
Our PYB team partnered with a La Casa del Camino; a boys’ home through Action International Ministries, a local Miskito church, Mama Tara Miskito Orphanage, and Instituto Vida Abundante; a Christian school that offers free education.
Each week had multiple projects and events that occurred on this trip. Many of the afternoons were spent at the orphanage and helping teach and play with the children; ages that could be from infanthood to high school age. The mornings tended to be work projects such as building fences, digging wells, creating gardens, and collecting firewood for meals. Weekends and a few days during the week, the team also partnered with the local church through evangelism and services. Testimonies were shared. Mass baptisms occurred. In all, this was an effective and divine trip.

NATIVE AMERICAN RESERVATION
We begin here. Before we reach those across the world, we reach the people right here in the Dakotas. Most recently, we have worked with Standing Rock Reservation (ND) and Pine Ridge Reservation (SD). On this trip, we partner with established organizations to reach these communities.
INNER CITY
Metropolitan areas offer incredible sights of massive skyscrapers, vibrant lights, and the hustle and bustle of city living. This trip is a full immersion into inner city life. Learn about poverty, various religions, children’s ministry, and street ministry.
ISRAEL
The Holy Land pilgrimage is the trip of a lifetime. On this trip, we walk in the footsteps of Christ and experience sites of the Bible - the Galilee region, the Negev Desert, and Jerusalem. Watch the Bible come alive!

Meet Anina
“In my experience of Pack of Your Bags, I was able to go to La Moskitia, Honduras. Until my time in PYB, I had never interacted with or been educated on Central America. This was also the first time I experienced the inability to have a conversation because of language. The Miskito language lacks learning resources and had no recognizable connection to Honduran Spanish. As we assimilated into the culture and normalcy of life, I grew closer to some girls at the orphanage. Their stories of being abandoned and abused revealed the need and lack of love they have grown up with. I learned humility in learning names and a new language and sometimes failing at both. But, it filled me with joy when I saw their smiles whenever I could understand them or say their names.”
