Why Pack Your Bags?

Pack Your Bags began as a dream from Trinity Bible College and Graduate School’s President, Dr. Paul Alexander. Dr. Paul envisioned an eight-month program that helped newly independent young adults gain valuable life experience through discipleship and travel. Starting in 2013, Pack Your Bags began as a gap-year, traveling to South Africa to work with orphanages, appealing to students who didn’t know what they wanted to do with their future, and gave them a year to dedicate growing closer to Christ, and finding their calling. 

Today, Pack Your Bags is still a fulfillment of Dr. Paul’s dream for the young adult wanting a gap year to discover their path forward (check out The Pathfinder Route), but it’s also for the student who knows exactly what they want to do with their future. PYB offers trips in the USA and abroad, working with multiple different ministries and foundations. We now offer different credit options for our students that line up with all of Trinity’s degree programs.

There is a significant focus on health— physical, spiritual, and mental, for a holistic approach of understanding how God created us. We tailor mentoring and discipleship meetings to the needs of each student. It is very important to us that students are placed on the right team, with the right roommates, so we take the application process very seriously. 

Pack Your Bags can be an academic jumpstart, The Academic Route will keep you on track with traditional students, but with less time in the classroom and more time traveling with the world as your classroom. You’ll earn a full year of college credits that count toward all of Trinity’s degree programs. Or, PYB can be the traditional college experience you’ve always hoped for, but with a lighter course load with The Traveler Route.
