Nepal is a mountainous country above India filled with joyful people, colorful prayer flags, and is home to the Himalayan Mountains including Mt. Everest. If you choose the Nepal Track, you’ll spend the majority of your time in Kathmandu living and working among both the Buddhist and Hindu populations living together in the capital city.
We partner with several existing ministries including Project Rescue, Envision Builders, The Learning Center, and Talk Time. Talk Time is an English outreach where college students come together to practice their English, learn about American culture, and share their Nepali culture with our students.
You’ll also get to trek to some remote villages and do some sustainability and work projects and encourage the few believers that live there. This track consists of climbing mountains, learning culture, teaching English, lots of tea times with Nepalis, exploring the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu, and hiking to remote villages to build and encourage.
Other Trips You’ll Take Include:
NATIVE AMERICAN RESERVATION
We begin here. Before we reach those across the world, we reach the people right here in the Dakotas. Most recently, we have worked with Standing Rock Reservation (ND) and Pine Ridge Reservation (SD). On this trip, we partner with established organizations to reach these communities.
INNER CITY
Metropolitan areas offer incredible sights of massive skyscrapers, vibrant lights, and the hustle and bustle of city living. This trip is a full immersion into inner city life. Learn about poverty, various religions, children’s ministry, and street ministry.
ISRAEL
The Holy Land pilgrimage is the trip of a lifetime. On this trip, we walk in the footsteps of Christ and experience sites of the Bible - the Galilee region, the Negev Desert, and Jerusalem. Watch the Bible come alive!
2020 PYB GRADUATE
Meet Rose
“My Pack Your Bags experience took place in Thailand and Nepal! We got to work with children in both countries. In Nepal, we got to learn about unreached people groups and helping reach the lost. We went trekking for a week and visited villages where we would meet believers. We got to help out in some churches and language schools along the way as well! Our big learning point was about just how many people don’t know Jesus, and have never heard of Him. That really struck us and broke our hearts. I’ve also been learning about myself and what God wants me to do in school.”
“My time at Trinity prepared me well for this trip because we got to learn some foundational aspects of missions and other cultures. It made my time there more impactful and fun. I don’t think I would’ve had the experience I did if that foundation hadn’t been laid by my schooling at Trinity.”
