3...2...1...Commit!

If you can believe it our first trip of the year has already come and gone! We spent our Labor Day weekend in Park Rapids, Minnesota at the Character Challenge Course Company, informally known as C4. When we pulled into the driveway and saw two massive trees with a banner that read “3…2…1…Commit!” we knew what the theme of our weekend would be, and from the moment we arrived everyone bought in.

I knew God would move.

“During my stay, I knew God was going to tell me something or move me in a way that I was not expecting, but I was excitedly anticipating it." -Emma-Leah

Over the course of the weekend we took personality assessments to better understand one another, we conquered our fear of heights to step into the uncomfortable, we took lessons in cooking to better serve one another, we built boats of cardboard to stretch our imaginations, and we shared testimonies to grow in love for our teammates. What at first seemed like an intimidating trip turned out to be the catalyst that brought us all together.

The experiences, laughs, and frustrations we all shared with each other created a large appreciation for all of our eccentricities.

We were reminded yet again that this is the weekend that sets the tone for the rest of the year— so after watching everyone cheer one another on during the egg toss, accepting their teammates for their “eccentricities”, and speaking words of life in prayer times we were reassured that Jesus’ plan is always for the good of those who love him. The tone that has been set is one of acceptance, joy, growth, and commitment. At the start of each new year we have the tendency to be nervous or unsure, but we can assure you He has never failed us. We were reminded that each member of the team is here for a reason.

As we look to our next trip, we can’t help but feel excited! We’re excited both for how Jesus is going to use us and how Jesus is going to work in us. We will be leaving for Rosebud Reservation in Mission, South Dakota on September 28th— join us in prayer as we believe that Jesus will continue to bring our team closer together as we prepare before we leave.
